Homework: History of Magic

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend Hogsmeade due to being so forgetful at the end of the vacations to get my form filled in to give me permission :o(  But, it didn't really matter as I was granted leave from Hogswarts for the week to visit muggle friends in Devon and Cornwall.


It was here that I had the good fortune to visit Tintagel Castle where Hengist of Woodford (the founder of Hogsmeade) spent many a time whilst he was King resting from battle.  Later, King Arthur and his wizard Merlin took up residence.

Tintagel was a wonderful stop on the way to Boscastle where I hoped to visit the Museum of Witchcraft - unfortunately it was closed until Easter.  Whilst in Tintagel I purchased a teach yourself Cornish book.  This will definitely help me with my Celtic studies.

On the way back from Cornwall to Hogwarts, I stopped at Glastonbury.  This is the muggle world equivalent of Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley!  

There are many equivalents to Dervish & Banges.  My favourite is Starchild where I bought some moon incense and some candles as well as a new censer and offering bowl.  Rather than Gladrags Wizardwear, I went to Lilith's and bought a beautiful moon goddess cloak.  Rather than Madam Puddifoot's, I had a tea of cheese and fresh granary bread from a little tea shop on Magdelene Street that I've forgotten the name of...
