Never let a cat near your Noro...

So there I was starting on the bag for my spoilee (not going to say which pattern in case she's reading!).  I had some lovely Noro Kureyon and had started well.  Put it down, went to bed.

Woke up the next morning and found that one of my cats had severed the yarn and ran off with the ball, leaving me a dangling string next to the start of my bag...

Wonder if it's too late to swop for an owl!

Homework Assignment Answers

Hurrah, finally got time to answer the questions!

  • What are your three most favorite colors? Red, Purple, Black
  • What are you three least favorite colors? Bright neon colours - I prefer to be subdued!
  • Your favorite candy is _________________. Candy!  Oh there are so many things that I like.  In fact, I like all candy - but would prefer milk chocolate to dark chocolate if there was a preference.  Unless I was drinking strong black coffee, then the richer and darker the chocolate the better...
  • Who is your favorite Weasley? Molly, a knitting genius.
  • Do you knit, crochet, or both? Knit mostly as just teaching myself to crochet.
  • What type of kit did you ask for? I couldn't make up my mind...  And I still haven't.  Any kit would be lovely.  I just like presents!
  • Acrylic— (a) has its uses, (b) should all be burned, (c) best yarn to work with? (choose an answer) That's a trick question as everybody knows it's all 3!  Acrylic is definitely the best yarn to work with and has it's uses when you've been asked to make a magic poppet of a Slytherin to burn!
  • Who is the Gryffindor Head Girl ? Millicent Brocklehurst.
  • Name four "extras" you would love to receive in your kit. Love, smiles, best wishes and giggles.  Material things are harder for me to ask for, can I just say nice surprises?  I know that's no help really, but I will be pleased with anything.  Stickers, knitty things, witchy things, HP things, funny things, pretty things - any things.
  • What are your three most favorite scents? Cinnamon, ylang ylang, fresh bread.  Actually these are the three that have just won the fight for being favourite today.
  • Do you prefer salty or sweet snacks? Both - and especially together!
  • Which Gryffindor and Slytherin students are sisters in real life? Lizzie Wychwood and Emma Wigworthy
  • Do you really need more stitch markers? Does anyone really need stitchmarkers?  They're just lovely things to have!
  • DPNs, circular, or straight?  All these decisions - I'm Libran and can't do decisions...  DPNs if I'm knitting socks, Circular for shawls and straight for sweaters.  I use all and don't have a preference.
  • Favorite yarn? Dream yarn? Favourite yarn is anything but acrylic.  Dream yarn is anything pretty that isn't acrylic.
  • Favorite HP Movie? Has to be Order of the Phoenix as I got to go and look around the set and see the Ministry of Magic BEFORE the film came out!!!
  • Favorite HP character? I know I'm a Gryff but there is something about Snape...  The low voice, the brooding looks - and as he's good with Potions he must make a mean cocktail!
  • What is your favorite pattern? Anything slightly bizarre!  I also really like circular shawl patterns and adore Mmario's designs.
  • First homework assignment

Yahoo and Wahey!  Have received my spoiler and spoilee information stuff - can start to put together what I'm going to do.

    First day of term

Hurrah and huzzaz.  First day of term is here.  I'm currently lurking in the common room waiting for the chat to start.  Trouble is I can't work out what time it's going to be...

On another note, have been contacted about making some stitchmarkers by an indie dyer for Wimbledon.  Am really excited.

Severe weather warnings are about for snow, but it doesn't look like it's going to hit here until lunchtime :o(  Looks like I'll have to head off to school and hope that they send us home.  Trouble with working 25 miles away from where I live, am keeping in contact with people who live closer to hope that it is cancelled.

    HSKS7 Wish List

Well, I saw the post for Hufflepuffs and thought that I'd do this too!  Make sense to do it now rather than later.  I sent off my form, made a mistake on it by missing out my blog address, re-sent my form and am now waiting to see if I'm in Gryffindor.  Anywho, here goes:

    Wishlist.
    • A tiny headed crochet hook for putting beads on knitting - I currently use a bit of wire, and currently keep losing it and getting it stuck in my bottom, foot, leg, wherever I lose it...
    • Someone willing to have Knitpicks stuff sent to them and to then mail it onto me (obviously I'll pay all the costs) as Knitpicks won't ship their yarn to the UK :o(
    • Some Knitpicks Handpainted Sock Yarn - any colourway, but I do like the witchy one.
    • Interesting sock yarn - I prefer using sock yarn to knit lace with and have an idea to make a lovely afghan with lots of different coloured sock yarn squares...
    • XRX publishers Great American Afghan books - this is the big expensive wish on my list and will end up buying them when I come over to the US in April so don't feel you have to get me these.
    • Cinnamon and Brown Sugar PopTarts.  I adore these and they don't do this as a standard flavour in the UK which means when I find them in a specialist food store I end up having to decide if I want to pay the equivalent of $8 a box...  Again, I will be purchasing many when I come over in April!
That's about all I can think of at the moment.  I like most things that are funny and knitty/witchy/yarny related.

    Tinkwych Treasures

Bit of self-promotion here.  I've opened up a shop on Folksy.  Basically, this is a UK version of Etsy.  At the moment it is only set up for selling to the UK, but I am willing to send worldwide if there is something on there that you desire.  Mail me and I'll sort out a price in your currency and postage costs.

At the moment I'm just selling stitchmarkers, but hope to expand to other things at a later date.  Put in an order for more charms yesterday to make some more sets, which is very exciting.

Shop name is Tinkwych  Clicky on the link or go to http://www.folksy.com/shops/Tinkwych
